Our Mission Statement
Our mission at the Saint Thomas More Spanish Program is simple.
We want to plant a seed in every Spanish student at STM!
A seed that hopefully, with time and educational cultivation, will sprout and grow into an innate desire of the students to seek further education regarding the wonderful language of Spanish, not only on an elementary level, but a high school level, and even a college level as well. Our goal is for students to gain an understanding of the advantages and the potential doors that will open up to them when they acquire secondary communication skills. Many possibilities will await them on the other side of those doors that will enhance their success in their future lives.
Students will gain an understanding of the interconnection of our global society and the ever-changing world in which we live. Students will become more culturally aware by being exposed to different traditions and customs of people from Spanish speaking countries and the intrinsic connection that all people of different languages have as a whole. Through the increasing of one's multicultural awareness, the students will be better equipped to be more integral parts of their society, and as a result will benefit
in their future lives.
